- Commitment to education
Texas is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in continuing education for our licensees. We rely on providers to deliver clear and accurate course content that adds substantive value to the practice of insurance, helping licensees enhance their knowledge and competence.
- Course content and provider responsibilities
Providers must administer courses that meet the state's educational requirements and contribute to expanding the competence of licensees in the insurance field. This includes offering knowledge that is directly applicable to the business of insurance.
- Audits and investigations
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) reserves the right to investigate or audit any provider’s continuing education records and compliance at any time.
-
Compliance guidelines
- Failure to comply: Providers must adhere to the relevant education rules outlined in Title 28 of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 19.1015(b). Failure to comply with these rules can result in penalties.
- Automatic fines: Providers found in violation may face automatic fines as specified in TAC 19.1016(c).
-
Audit notifications
In accordance with TAC 19.1014, TDI has designated Pearson VUE as the official designee responsible for auditing Continuing Education and Pre-Licensing courses.
Providers may receive audit notifications from Pearson VUE, and it is mandatory for providers to respond to these audit requests.
