Texas Catastrophe Event Statistical Plan for Personal and Commercial Risks

Who Files

All insurers licensed to write property and casualty insurance in Texas, including surplus lines and farm mutual insurers. The applicable lines of insurance and thresholds for reporting can be found in the statistical plan.

Due Date

Companies are not required to report data under this plan until TDI has activated its catastrophe data call for a specified catastrophe event. At the time TDI activates reporting for an event, TDI will notify companies of the name of the event and the reporting frequency and due dates through a bulletin on TDI's website. However, TDI will not require companies to report more frequently than monthly, and TDI will give companies at least 15 days after the end of a reporting period to submit data. TDI will notify companies when reporting is no longer required.

Also see the listing of recently issued data calls.

Purpose

The Texas Catastrophe Event Statistical Plan for Personal and Commercial Risks provides a uniform format for TDI to collect insurance statistical data and market information following specified catastrophe events that occur on or after September 1, 2019.
