In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on April 30, 2004 through May 2, 2004, in the counties of Anderson, Bexar, Bowie, Briscoe, Brown, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Clay, Coleman, Collin, Comanche, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Franklin, Galveston, Grayson, Hamilton, Harris, Henderson, Hood, Jack, Jefferson, Jim Hogg, Kaufman, Matagorda, McLennan, Mills, Montgomery, Morris, Navarro, Nueces, Orange, Palo Pinto, Panola, Parker, Polk, Rains, Rusk, San Jacinto, Shackelford, Smith, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, Throckmorton, Titus, Tyler, Van Zandt, Wichita, Willacy, Young, and Zapata Counties are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
