In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined that the weather-related events occurring on September 6, 2002 through September 9, 2002, in the counties of Aransas, Atascosa, Austin, Bandera, Bastrop, Bee, Bexar, Blanco, Brazoria, Burnet, Caldwell, Calhoun, Cameron, Chambers, Colorado, Comal, Dallas, Denton, De Witt, Dimmit, Duval, El Paso, Fayette, Fort Bend, Frio, Galveston, Gillespie, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Harris, Hays, Hidalgo, Jackson, Jefferson, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Kleberg, La Salle, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Live Oak, Llano, Matagorda, McMullen, Medina, Montgomery, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Tarrant, Travis, Uvalde, Victoria, Waller, Webb, Wharton, Williamson, Wilson and Zavala are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.
Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
