This bulletin announces a call for rate information for a revised Homeowners Insurance Rate Guide to be published by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI).
All companies writing homeowners insurance for new customers in Texas after August 1, 2002, are required to respond to this request. The information collected through this data call will be published in a rate guide to allow consumers to compare annual premiums for insurance companies. All companies offering homeowners insurance to new customers will be included in the revised rate guide. Rates will be collected for the type of policy that a company is most likely to offer new customers in each rating territory.
You must provide the required information within 10 days, under authority of Section 38.001 of the Texas Insurance Code.
The deadline for submitting rate information is August 16, 2002.
Companies will enter their rates directly into a password-protected Web page on the TDI Web site. The Web address for the rate collection form is

The attached instruction sheet provides more detailed information about entering the requested information. Please remember that you are responsible for the accuracy of the data submitted.
