Re: Regarding Weather-Related Events Occurring on 6/29/02-7/7/02 Determined a Catastrophe for Claims Processing

In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on June 29, 2002 through July 7, 2002, in the counties of Atascosa, Bandera, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Brown, Burnet, Caldwell, Callahan, Coleman, Comal, Eastland, Fisher, Frio, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Jones, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Lee, Llano, Medina, Nolan, Shackelford, Taylor, Travis, Williamson, and Wilson are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
