In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on May 26, 2002 through May 29, 2002, in the counties of Armstrong, Bell, Bexar, Bosque, Bowie, Brown, Burnet, Caldwell, Cameron, Carson, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Concho, Coryell, Crockett, Crosby, Dallas, Denton, Duval, Eastland, Ector, Ellis, Erath, Gaines, Glasscock, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hale, Hamilton, Hansford, Harris, Hidalgo, Hill, Hockley, Hood, Howard, Hutchinson, Jim Wells, Johnson, Jones, Kendall, Kimble, Kleberg, Live Oak, Llano, Lubbock, McCulloch, Midland, Mitchell, Nolan, Nueces, Potter, Randall, Refugio, Runnels, San Patricio, San Saba, Shackelford, Somervell, Sterling, Tarrant, Taylor, Tom Green, Travis, Victoria, Willacy, and Williamson are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.
Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
