Re:   Regarding Weather Related Events Occurring on 8/26/01 - 9/5/01


In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on August 26, 2001 through September 5, 2001, in the counties of Aransas, Atascosa, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Bexar, Blanco, Brazoria, Brazos, Brooks, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Calhoun, Cameron, Chambers, Collin, Colorado, Comal, Dallas, Denton, De Witt, Duval, Ellis, Fannin, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Gillespie, Goliad, Gonzales, Grayson, Grimes, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Hays, Hidalgo, Hunt, Jackson, Jefferson, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Johnson, Karnes, Kaufman, Kendall, Kenedy, Kleberg, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Live Oak, Llano, Madison, Matagorda, McMullen, Milam, Montgomery, Nueces, Orange, Refugio, Robertson, Rockwall, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Starr, Tarrant, Travis, Walker, Waller, Washington, Webb, Wharton, Willacy, Williamson, Wilson, and Zapata, are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
