Re:   Regarding Weather-Related Events Occurring on 4/16/01-4/17/01


In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on April 16, 2001 through April 17, 2001, in the counties of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller, and Washington, are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
