This is to inform you that the community of Van Vleck, Texas was inadvertently assigned an incorrect Public Protection Classification (PPC). The Insurance Services Office assigned a PPC of 9 to Van Vleck; however, the correct PPC is 7. As a result, policies have been written at slightly higher rates. Insurers are requested to amend any policy issued on or after February 1, 1998, or on or after the effective date of the individual insurer's filing of benchmark rates if the filing was effective later than February 1, 1998, to reflect the correct premium for the approved PPC. Insurers may use the most reasonable and economically feasible method of correcting policies to reflect the correct PPC and providing any necessary return premium to the insurers.
