Re:   Weather-related events occurring on May 8, 1998 in the counties of Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, Wise, Parker, Young, Wichita, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Smith, Garyson, Cooke, Johnson, Hood, Ellis, Gregg, Hale, Lamb, Floyd, Jack and Palo Pinto for the purpose of claims processing


In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related event occurring on May 8 , 1998, in the counties of Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, Wise, Parker, Young, Wichita, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Smith, Garyson, Cooke, Johnson, Hood, Ellis, Gregg, Hale, Lamb, Floyd, Jack and Palo Pinto, is a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
