Re:   Commissioner's Order No. 96-1369, adoption of amendments to the Texas Automobile Rules and Rating Manual, Rule 74.E.3., Drug and alcohol driving awareness training credits.

The Commissioner of Insurance, by Commissioner's Order No. 96-1369, Docket No. 2259, has adopted amendments to the Texas Automobile Rules and Rating Manual (the Manual), Rule 74.E.3., Drug and alcohol driving awareness training credits. The Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA) currently performs certification of course sponsors and instructors, as well as approval of courses to which this rule pertains. TCADA will discontinue these functions, and Texas A&M University, Safety Education Program will begin performing them, as provided by the amendments to this rule. The other amendments are editorial in nature.

The amendments were adopted to become effective March 1, 1997.
