To:   ALL COMPANIES

Re:   Weather related events occurring on April 19-21, 1996 in the counties of Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Collin, Panola, McLennan, Bell, Fannin, Dallas, Red River, and Delta for the purpose of claims processing.


In accordance with the Texas Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on April 19, 1996, April 20, 1996 and April 21, 1996 in the counties of Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Collin, Panola, McLennan, Bell, Fannin, Dallas, Red River, and Delta are catastrophes for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
