The Commissioner of Insurance, by Commissioner's Order No. 96-0217, has adopted amendments to the Texas Automobile Rules and Rating Manual, Rule 74, to allow an optional discount for a vehicle equipped with a daytime-running-lights system. The caption of Rule 74.H is expanded and a new subsection 3.d is added to provide for this discount. The amount of any such discount is within an insurer's discretion, but the discount, if given by an insurer, must be applicable for original equipment systems and aftermarket installed systems. This letter is accompanied by a copy of Exhibit B from the petition, showing the adopted amendments.
The amendments were adopted to become effective April 1, 1996.
