Note: Effective August 1, 2018, TDI will no longer maintain a list of asphalt shingle products that complies with the adopted standards for the Windstorm Program. The adopted code standards require shingle manufacturers to indicate compliance to either ASTM D 3161 or ASTM D 7158 standards on the shingle wrapper. All windstorm inspectors (Appointed Qualified Inspectors and TDI Field Inspectors) should be looking for these standards on the shingle packages as part of the inspection process. Since the code requires manufacturers to label their products, it is not necessary for TDI to maintain the asphalt shingle list.
Effective April 1, 2026, the TDI alternative underlayment list for synthetic underlayment materials will no longer be maintained and has been removed from the TDI website. Synthetic underlayment materials that are conforming products must indicate conformance to the test standard (ASTM D 8257) on wrappers and labels; inspectors are encouraged to reference conformance to the test standard on inspection reports. In the event of older windstorm conforming products manufactured prior to the new standard, inspectors can still use the appropriate Intertek/ICC report as a test reference provided the report itself indicates compliance with the 2024 IRC/IBC.
