The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) rescinds the May 2016 Fire Marshal Notice concerning fire department connection (FDC) signage.
Requirements
State agencies and facilities should coordinate with their local responding fire department to meet the department’s code requirements and those in the state’s adopted code. Provide a written copy of this agreement between the local responding fire department and the state agency to the SFMO inspector during your fire inspection.
The requirements for an FDC sign are in NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, 2013 edition, Chapter 8.17.2.4.7.
