Houston Company Earns Safety Award

Universal Pegasus

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recognized Universal Pegasus International with a Lone Star Safety Award for their exemplary workplace safety program and low rates of work-related injuries and illnesses. Universal Pegasus International is a provider of oil and gas engineering, procurement, and construction management services. The company has 500 full-time employees and 30 temporary employees at its Houston facility.

“Universal Pegasus International has a strong safety culture for its employees,” Chris D’Amura, DWC director of workplace safety, said. “Their leadership is known for getting employees involved at all levels in the safety program by recognizing them when they report a concern or near miss. Universal Pegasus International has also done a great job in preventing and controlling hazards by giving employees thoroughly written safety procedures and posting personal protective equipment requirements throughout the facility.”
