Workers’ comp seminar offered in Abilene for health care providers and staff

The Division of Workers’ Compensation and the Texas Tech University Small Business Development Center offer training for medical office staff on August 15, 2018. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at America’s SBDC at Texas Tech University, 749 Gateway St., Ste. 301 in Abilene. Registration is $35 per person and includes lunch. 

The seminar covers:

  • Identifying a workers’ compensation patient and verifying coverage;
  • Utilization Review - prospective, concurrent, and retrospective review of medical necessity;
  • Return-to-work and the DWC073;
  • Medical bill processing and fee guidelines; and
  • Processes for resolving disputes.
