1. Check with your local authorities.
Contact your local fire department or city or county government to see if a local agency performs fire safety inspections. If one does, schedule your inspection with them.
2. Send us a request.
If a local agency does not perform the inspections, fill out a fire safety inspection request form and mail it to the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO), along with the appropriate fee.
3. Schedule an inspection.
After reviewing your request, an SFMO inspector will contact you to schedule your inspection and answer any questions.
